About Thailand

Thailand (locally known as Muang Thai) has become one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world. In one word, the main reason for Thailand's popularity is its diversity. Thailand is blessed with scenic beauty of its landscapes. Thailand offers mountainous regions with beautiful valleys in the north, plains in the centre and north east, most attractive beaches and islands in the south, and plains supporting agriculture and jungles in the east. It is referred as a golden land because of the luster produced from the combination of fertile rice fields of the central plains, white sandy beaches or the warm hospitality of its citizenry.

When to go
The best to go for a visit in Thailand is between November and February. At that time, the weather is cooler during this period and there is certainly less rain than at other times in the year. Thailand is a big country with a diverse landscape so that the weather conditions also vary. So, all the year, some places can be seen in Thailand.

Thailand's Seasons

• Central Thailand & The Eastern Provinces
  Summer weather starts around March and goes up to November. The winter months are between November and February. The rainy season starts around the end of May and continue up to October. The rain may be frequent or fierce.
• Northern Thailand & The Northeast
  The weather is similar to that of the central and eastern regions Northern. Here the winters are significantly cooler and in some occasions it can down to 0 degrees centigrade. Here winter starts in November and goes on to January and are the best months for a visit when flowers are in bloom, it is dry and cool, and in the mountains mists and fogs often form making what is already wonderful scenery exquisite.
• Southern Thailand
  The season here is less distinct and really there are only two proper seasons - summer and the rainy season. The best time to visit is between November and April to avoid the monsoons that occur during other months - monsoons obviously make visiting islands by boat difficult and sometimes dangerous. Some parts are best visited between May and October also. Any way if one is planning to visit both sides of the coast during your stay in Thailand, March to April would be the best months.

Where to go
Thailand offers much to its visitors coming from all parts of the world. Of course Bangkok is the first place to see. Bangkok is a big, brash, modern city which offers world favourite comforts and entertainment. The city is famous for its nightlife with go-go bars like Patpong and Nana.

Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai are two popular spots where dramatic mountainous landscapes coupled with unique histories make both intriguing and entertaining places to visit. The ruins of Sukothai's ancient city offer a feeling of Thailand glorious past, as does Ayutthaya in central Thailand. Loei offers dramatic scenery enhanced by the presence of mists and fogs which makes it the coldest place of the nation.

Kanchanaburi is a 'must-visit' destination. It was a site connected with Second World War. Pattaya is also an international tourism destination because of its finely tuned nightlife including a huge offering of go-go alongside great restaurants and its own unique take on cabaret. Other tourist spots include Hua Hin and Cha-am. They have excellent beaches and only a short drive from Bangkok. Thailand offers visit to the National Parks also.

Thailand is famous for its beautiful islands also which are decorated with clear waters, white and golden sands, palms and coconuts - which make it truly a paradise on the earth.
